Song for a Lady

A Regency outcast in her own family

Ever since her mother abandoned her father, Lady Deborah Martin can’t seem to please the earl. Now she’s offended another important man in her life, handsome Lord Foxborough. During what ought to be her season in society, she finds herself in London as little better than a companion to her widowed cousin Melanie.

Deborah makes plans of her own, to launch a career as a singer upon the stage. But this Regency-era Cinderella soon finds her plans colliding with those of everyone around her – including, most particularly, Foxborough himself.

A love for the books of Jane Austen drew Jacqueline Diamond to the world of the Regency-era romance, and her half-dozen novels in the genre have delighted readers for nearly thirty years. A former Associated Press reporter in Los Angeles, Jackie has received a career achievement award from Romantic Times magazine and two finalist placements for the RITA Award. The Forgetful Lady

First she lost her memory … now she’s misplaced her heart.

London society considers Lady Elizabeth Fairchild a tease and a flirt. And it is true that during her come-out she acted the part in her desperation to please her difficult mother.

Then, after a nasty fall and a loss of memory, Beth resolves to be her caring and honest self. But instead of reclaiming her reputation, she finds it growing dangerously worse. A story is spreading that she broke the heart of a close friend of the Marquis of Meridan, the man she truly “ but secretly “ adores.

Now her every action is misinterpreted and scandal nips at her heels. If only she could remember what happened between her and the young man who supposedly fled broken-hearted to his untimely death. If only she could see passion, instead of anger, in the eyes of the man she loves.

Will her memory never return? And will the marquis ever see her as she truly is?
